Night Run by south-wind Night Run by south-wind
First painting in a while! I started with little planning and no line art - just slapped down some paint and kept going, and switched to black and white halfway through, when I realised I was churning out yet another brown horse painting. As it progressed, I concentrated on getting a sense of solidity and three-dimensionality into my digital stuff. I also wanted it to have a kind of storybook illustration feel. I think it's probably the best I've done so far.

This is extremely impressive! The anatomy is gorgeous and the shading is just breathtaking! I love the subtle dapples and those beautiful highlights that give him such dimension! The way that you shade is just stunning, and you can see all the planes on his body wonderfully, especially his head and shoulders. I also really love the way you've shaded the mane and tail, very beautiful all around! Gorgeous job, you should be extremely proud of yourself!
